What’s your writing background? When did you begin writing and what inspired you?
I have no background at all. I was writing a blog some four years ago when I lived in Portugal, about events that happened to me in Spain. This is what my story is based on, and my friend and editor who read the first few chapters said, “Dave, you must continue with this story.” So I did and the book was self-published on Amazon in June 2012. The story is about my trip to Spain where after a couple of weeks of partying and enjoying myself as you do on holiday, for whatever reason, which is in the book, I left a party in the early hours one morning. I noticed a hotel fire in the distance and took a further look. Now this is where the story takes that wrong turn. After saving two lives, I was wrongly arrested for arson and manslaughter and well, you will just have to read the book to find out what happens.
How often do you write? And how do you manage to fit in writing among other commitments?
Since I wrote my book, Wrong Place Wrong Time, I now have the bug. I have written some ideas for a second book, but nothing published as yet. I have been so busy with my first and other commitments that it has been impossible to continue writing on an everyday level. But I hope to finish something soon.
In which genre do you most enjoy writing?
Well, having only written one book, which is under the genre of biography, true account and even true crime, I cannot say, but I guess it has to be a thriller for my third book after my marketing book, I hope.
What draws you to write in that genre?
The storyline of my first book is what happened to me so that just happens to be the genre.
Can you tell me about your current project(s)?
Well, as I said, Wrong Place Wrong Time has become like a full time job with marketing, which I love doing and interviews. There are some very exciting plans for the book for which I have my fingers crossed.
What are your writing plans for the future?
Currently, I am seventy-five per cent complete in writing a book about marketing. I have always been involved in sales and marketing and love that side of promoting my book. I am always thinking every day of my next project.
