What’s your writing background? When did you begin writing and what inspired you?
Shortly after I started meditating in my late forties, I wrote my first solo published work on a 747 at 35,000 feet somewhere over the Atlantic. It’s a story of a woman who lives to 100 (told backwards) written in just 33 four line rhyming stanzas. I had no idea that it would propel me into a new career as a full time author and writer’s unblocker.
How often do you write? And how do you manage to fit in writing among other commitments?
I write most days. Either working on a book or a blog. My most creative time is between 8:30am and 11:30am. Each year for the last six years though, all my major opuses have sprung into life appropriately in Spring.
In which genre do you most enjoy writing?
I write in the personal development, mind/body/spirit space and I specialise in taking esoteric (or hidden or unknown) wisdom and making it exoteric, easily understandable knowledge.
What draws you to write in that genre?
I met a chap who gave me four DVD’s of esoteric information a few years ago. He said, “You’ll know what to do with this” – and then kind of disappeared. I am driven at reverse engineering how we got here and came to ask the question, “Why are we here?”. I am getting close to some answers and am finding the truth is stranger than we think.
Can you tell me about your current project(s)?
I’ve just published this year’s Spring book called Planes of Being which explores our true multidimensional nature, as described by the Minor Arcana of the Tarot. I have also published a small book which I didn’t plan to write called This We Know. It’s only 10,000 words and I wrote and published it in just two weeks. In just two months, it already has clocked up more five star reviews than any of my other books have in years.
I’ve also just launched a product for writers and creatives called Bending Time. It helps change the speed of consciousness so you get in the zone and get more done in less time.
What are your writing plans for the future?
Next year I plan to bring all the threads of my non-fiction books together exploring the true nature of thought and self-awareness. The project title is The Lost Arcana but this may change as the content emerges. I may also finish off a novel called Soulwave that I started writing some years ago, before my non-fiction work took over.
Where can people find out more about you?
I’m on Facebook and Twitter with the moniker, TheBookwright.
