Bestselling Author, Tony Black, Talks About His New Semi-Autobiographical Book ‘His Father’s Son’
It's my first novel outside the crime genre, what we call in the trade a 'dad and a lad' - it focuses on the often difficult father/son relationship... It's been billed as semi-autobiographical, and to a certain extent a lot of Marti's discoveries were mine after being born in Australia and abruptly dropping down in Ireland as an eight-year-old...

I cover some pretty disturbing storylines when writing, and whilst most of my readers enjoy my books, I know that some readers will find some of the subject matter difficult to read. But the issues I cover do happen, they are out there. And with every dark, murky tale, there is always a survivor: a strong person who battles through their harsh reality somehow, and that is what I champion.

My debut thriller, CUT SHORT, was inspired by an encounter with a stranger in my local park... It genuinely never occurred to me that anyone else would ever read my narrative, let alone publish it. The story that arose out of that brief encounter in the park went on to be published as CUT SHORT, shortlisted for a 2010 CWA Dagger Award for Best First Crime Novel...
In the Booth with Ruth – Trista Hendren, Author & Feminist Activist
I write what comes to me. I never thought I would write children’s books, but that is what happened first. I really enjoy the creative process of our books, where we put together illustrations and quotes with the story. It’s really quite fun. And I have the best partner—artist Elisabeth Slettnes—in all the world.
Niki Adams of the English Collective of Prostitutes Discusses Decriminalisation & the Merseyside Model
"Since 1975, the International Prostitutes Collective has been campaigning for the abolition of the prostitution laws which criminalize sex workers and our families, and for economic alternatives and higher benefits and wages.
No woman, child or man should be forced by poverty or violence into sex with anyone. We provide information, help and support to individual prostitute women and others who are concerned with sex workers’ human, civil, legal and economic rights."

My songs are always based on something true. A story about me or someone I know. Sometimes they are just to express my feelings on a subject - could be love, friendship, family, or just life in general. Once in a while, random words come to mind in the way of a hook and how to give those words meaning might come along later.

Trista Hendren, Co-Founder of Rapebook, Discusses Facebook’s Issue of Child Sex Abuse Images and Human Trafficking
I do not believe Facebook has done nearly enough... They must have a zero tolerance policy on images of child sex abuse and human trafficking... Facebook does not have to be a platform for rapists, pedophiles, men who beat up and kill women or other criminals. The way I see things now, Facebook is no better than a hotel owner who rents out a room to a creepy man with a half-naked child and listens to her scream while he counts his money.

I started writing stories when I was very young. I get inspired by people and things that I go through in my own life... I have read almost nothing but crime novels for years so I wanted to see if I could pull it off... I am currently working on Heir to Misfortune, the second title in the DI Frank Lyle mystery series.

LA Reggae Band, Arise Roots, Bring Music to the Booth With Their Album ‘Moving Forward’
About ninety per cent of the music we create comes out of jam sessions. We get together and just start playing without any guidelines or barriers. The feel, the mood, the vibe itself is what dictates what we play. It doesn't take long to tell if it is a tune worth keeping. The ones that we dig get developed a little more until we have a song...
